The wedding photography history dates back to somewhere in the mid 19^th century. Although it had not become commercial at that time but people had already started considering it as one of the great ways to create the memories forever through it. However, since there were many technological limitations, this photography had to be done inside the studios. In fact, this remained the situation for over a century. In the 19^th century, people did not have the option of multiple photographs, paper photographs, and not even albums. At that time, the best people had at that time were tiny copper sheets or the daguerreotype portraits. But the times changed, technology evolved, and it became a mainstream thing.

The photographers realized that they had to find another way and coloured photographs were not work. Hence, they resorted to black and white photos. Although many experiments and researches were being carried out, this type of photography could not become very popular until after the end of the World War 2.

Most of the photographers were those who had been trained to take photos of the military. But there were amateur photographers too who would make it as a profitable business.

 

Although the photographs taken by the non-professionals were of low-quality, their work created a sense of competition and the professionals had to get out of their studio and start taking the pictures on-site. But the photographers still could not get out of the groove. They still wanted to imitate the studio settings on the site. Due to this, they had to haul heavy equipment and bulky lighting arrangements to the location of the wedding. This made the life a little difficult.

But the trends changed overtime and rather rapidly this time. The evolution of technology over the next 20 years was far more rapid than it had happened in the last 100 years. This was primarily because of the competition and commercial viability of wedding photography. By 1970s, this photography had become the mainstream business. More and more professionals started getting trained to make money.
